Overview

Founded in 1854, Huntingdon Boat Club is one of the oldest in the area. The club house location has moved over the years but has always operated on the same stretch of the River Great Ouse between Godmanchester and Houghton.

We are a friendly club with a very active social membership as well as having our senior rowers and a large junior rowing squad.

RALPHH

Huntingdon Boat Club was delighted to receive a portable defibrillator from National Charity RALPHH. This has been installed in the club boathouse and is available if ever needed. We hope the defibrillator never needs to be used, but it is an additional safeguarding measure.

RALPHH is active across England and Wales in encouraging the improved availability of potentially life-saving equipment. Richard Allen, Chairman of RALPHH, came to the club to present the defibrillator on the 29th May.

The charity was established in 2018, following the untimely death pf a National Schools’ Rowing Champion. RALPHH has been able to help over 30 sporting clubs and schools install and manage defibrillation equipment, with an emphasis on rowing and other strenuous sports.
