Huntingdon Head of River race was held on October 27th.

Three divisions of main head racing took place over the course from Houghton to Huntingdon. Racing included single sculls, pairs, doubles, fours, quads and eights and a wide range of competitors from J16 all the way through to Masters G.

The fastest crew of the day were an eight from St Ives who completed the course in 13:23. 2nd fastest of the day was a J18 double scull who flew down the course in 14:32.  The fastest mini head competitor on the day was the clubs own double scull of Evie Ray and Daniel Grant at J12 who completed the mini head course in 9:32. Winners for the club in the Main Head were Tom Starling in J16 1x, Abigail Ryley and Tara Heyburn in W2x and Alex Hunter and Ben Hunter in the Op J162x.

The weather was extremely kind to us helping to make it a very enjoyable day for all involved. A wide selection of food was on offer, much of which was donated by members of the club for which we are very grateful.

The club would like to thank all those from the club who helped with the running of the event. We would particularly like to thank Andrew Blit, Chris Parkhouse, Anthony Harris, Teresa Aslett, Lianne Stanford and Tammy Finnegan who gave up their time to visit the club and provide British Rowing umpires for the event.
