The club has a very active junior squad.
Huntingdon Boat Club welcomes junior rowers from Year 7 onwards. Our Junior squad train all year round; during he summer this is water based, weather permitting, and during the winter the dark nights restrict weekday sessions to gym work but Saturdays remain on the water. This is an outdoor water sport so be prepared for all conditions. Rain does not stop play, only high winds or lightning will prevent us from putting boats on the water.
Safety is a prime concern for the club and all junior sessions have safety/coaching launches on the water. We insist all rowers can show evidence of being able to swim and we carry out capsize training on the water during the warmer months.
